Actor Ryu Soo-young Shares Heart-Wrenching Moment of Almost Losing His Daughter

Actor Ryu Soo-young, husband of Park Ha-sun, opens up about a terrifying moment when he almost lost his daughter.

On the upcoming episode of SBS's 'The Story of the Day Biting the Tail' ('Kkokkomu'), airing on the 30th, Ryu Soo-young, actress Geum Sae-rok, and Tours Shin Yoo will appear as listeners. The episode will delve into a chilling series of infant abductions that occurred in a village starting in 1991.

The 'Daecheon Infant Serial Kidnapping and Murder Case' involved the disappearance or murder of five children from the same village, including a 2-month-old boy, a 15-day-old boy, a 4-month-old girl, a 6-day-old girl, and a 5-year-old girl. All five cases remain unsolved, with some children still missing, drawing significant attention.

The final case, involving the abduction and murder of a 5-year-old girl, shocked many with its brutality. The girl disappeared while sleeping next to her mother and was found dead in a field the following day. A journalist who covered the case remarked on the horror of the situation, noting the damage to the child's liver, which left the studio in shock and dismay. Geum Sae-rok expressed her anger, while Tours Shin Yoo was left speechless by the unimaginable crime.

Ryu Soo-young, a father himself, shared, "I almost lost my daughter," recounting a moment when she disappeared from his sight. He described the 30 seconds of searching for her as a personal hell, deeply empathizing with the parents of the missing children and breaking down in tears.

In honor of Family Month in May, 'Kkokkomu' is launching a national project to find long-term missing children. Utilizing the latest AI-based age transformation technology from KIST AI & Robotics Institute, they have created videos estimating the current appearances of these children.

Additionally, 26 celebrities, including Choi Kwang-il, Kim Na-young, STAYC's Seeun, Han Ji-hye, Shin So-yul, At Heart's Arin, Son Dam-bi, Lucy's Shin Ye-chan, Lee Guk-joo, Choi Jin-hyuk, Billie's Tsuki, Go Woo-rim, fromis_9's Song Ha-young, Park Hyo-joo, Yoon Nam-no, Kim Yoo-mi, THE BOYZ's Younghoon, Yoon Sung-bin, Kim Jin-soo, Kim Kwang-hyun, Pyo Chang-won, Lee Sang-min, Solbi, Jang Do-yeon, Jang Hyun-sung, and Jang Sung-kyu, will lend their voices to support the search for these children over the next six months.
