“Both wives own land” Kim Min-jae confesses to living in two houses

Actor Kim Min-jae revealed his daily life in Jeju Island with his wife Choi Yu-ra.

The SBS entertainment show 'Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 - You Are My Destiny' (hereinafter referred to as 'Same Bed, Different Dreams 2'), which aired on the 1st, included the daily lives of the new destined couple, actors Kim Min-jae and Choi Yu-ra.

Actor Kim Min-jae, who has been married for 9 years, is active in the ranks of '40 million actors' through movies such as 'Veteran', 'Ode to My Father', 'Crime City 3', and 'Crime City 4'. Currently, I live between Jeju Island, where my family is, and Gimpo accommodation.

His wife, actress Choi Yoo-ra, was famous for her lookalikes, including Lee Hyo-ri, Kang Hye-jung, and Han So-hee. Minjae Kim boasted, “My wife went to a yoga center in Jeju Island. I met Hyori Lee and we felt like sisters.” In response, Choi Yu-ra cracked down and said, "Don't say anything that will cause trouble."

On this day, Kim Min-jae came home to Jeju Island two months after finishing filming, and Choi Yu-ra calmly welcomed her husband. Daughter Kim Hee-ro and son Kim Do-ha, who looked exactly like their father, acted as if they were unfamiliar, but soon adapted.

Couple Kim Min-jae and Choi Yu-ra unveiled a cafe they run along with a Jeju Island house they designed themselves. Yura Choi said, "It usually takes 3 months to build a house, but for us, it took 8 months. We fought a lot. My husband is spontaneous, so he kept changing his plans. I wondered why this person was like this, but I realized that this person is a dreamer. So my husband dreamed and I decided to implement it,” she said.

Kim Min-jae said about the cafe, "My father-in-law built it with debt," and "It's all owned by my wife." The couple's cafe was a neighborhood hangout that also operated as a small theater for plays and an after-school classroom for children. Yoo-ra Choi, a graduate of the Department of Early Childhood Education, was the CEO of a preparatory social enterprise founded by Min-jae Kim and was involved in cafe operation, performance production, acting, and kids program operation.

Minjae Kim said, “I tried to quit acting,” and confessed that there were times when he had a difficult time due to severe panic symptoms. Accordingly, in the first year of marriage, he decided to go to Jeju Island and started living in a single room in Choi Yu-ra's hometown, Jeju Island. Kim Min-jae confessed, "I have been living alone. I didn't know how to live with someone, so the conflict with my wife got worse." At the time, Choi Yu-ra also suffered from postpartum depression. Kim Min-jae said, "I want to protect my family, but I don't know how." They revealed that they even received couples counseling out of desperation.

Minjae Kim also confessed to his lonely childhood. He was raised by his mother, whom he had not seen since he separated from his father when he was seven, and by market merchants in place of his strict and busy father. Kim Min-jae said, “My father was also very clumsy, scary, and strict. “I didn’t know it when I was young, but when I thought about it as I was raising my child, I realized that I was highly depressed at the time.”

He continued, “After I got married, I first greeted the market merchants. In a way, she played the role of a mother to me. We cook rice, eat together, and help out. It was like that when I was young. “Even though I have parents, I have heard many times that I am a child without parents,” he said, shedding tears.
