'The Ultimate Investigation' is a crime investigation drama where detective Jae-hyuk (played by Bae Sung-woo), demoted to a rural area, heads to Seoul with rookie detective Jung-ho (played by Jung Ga-ram) to track down the real culprit of a murder case involving two suspects. Although filming wrapped in 2019, its release was delayed due to Bae Sung-woo's DUI controversy, finally reaching audiences after about seven years.

Bae Sung-woo was caught driving under the influence in 2020, with a blood alcohol level exceeding 0.08%, leading to license revocation.

Jung Ga-ram recalled hearing the news shortly after enlisting. He said, "I found out through an article not long after I enlisted. It was disappointing, but I realized it was beyond my control." He added, "I didn't reach out because I thought it might make him feel worse."

Reflecting on seeing his younger self on screen, Jung Ga-ram shared, "I filmed it in my mid-20s, and my weight is similar, but I've lost some baby fat." He laughed, "I used to hear I looked older, but now people say I look younger." He added, "I always carry my ID because it feels good to be carded."

Jung Ga-ram spoke fondly of his co-stars, saying, "The other senior actors are just the same, but Yoon Kyung-ho has gotten much bigger," he laughed. "After filming, he treated us to fermented skate and makgeolli, and I was really grateful. He's a cool person."

He also had positive memories of working with Bae Sung-woo, who is 21 years his senior. Jung Ga-ram said, "Despite the age difference, he was trendy and a reliable senior on set. He treated me comfortably, even though I could be like a son to him." He added, "I briefly met him during 'Beasts Clawing at Straws' (2020), and he left a strong impression. I was excited to work with him."

Despite the delayed release, Jung Ga-ram remains optimistic. He said, "I'm happy to participate in promotional activities now. If it had been released seven years ago, I wouldn't have been able to join due to military service." He expressed his determination, "I want to do my best to promote the film."

'The Ultimate Investigation' was released on the 2nd.
