Korean Crime Comedy 'The Informant' Wins Best Foreign Language Film at Asia International Film Festival 2025

The Korean crime action comedy film 'The Informant,' which garnered attention as the opening film of the 24th New York Asian Film Festival, has won the Best Foreign Language Film award at the Asia International Film Festival 2025, held in Macau from October 26 to 27.

'The Informant' follows the story of Oh Nam-hyuk (played by Heo Sung-tae), a once-ace detective who has lost his passion and investigative skills after being demoted, and Jo Tae-bong (played by Cho Bok-rae), an informant who has been making money by providing information on major cases. The two characters accidentally get involved in a big scheme, leading to a series of comedic and action-packed events.

The Asia International Film Festival recognized 'The Informant' on October 27, highlighting its seamless blend of crime, action, and comedy, further proving its appeal in the genre.

Han Sung-gu, the representative of the film's production company, expressed his joy, stating, “We are hosting a screening of 'The Informant' with esteemed guests today. Meanwhile, 'The Informant' is set to be released on November 3.
