Uhm Ki-joon Shines in Musical 'Sugar' with Versatile Performance
The musical 'Sugar', featuring Uhm Ki-joon, concluded its Seoul run on the 22nd of last month amidst enthusiastic applause from the audience. Set against the backdrop of the Prohibition era in 1929, 'Sugar' humorously depicts the misadventures of two jazz musicians who, after witnessing a gang murder, disguise themselves as women to join a female band for survival. The musical is based on the classic comedy film 'Some Like It Hot'.
In the production, Uhm Ki-joon took on the role of the romantic saxophonist 'Joe'. Joe, along with his colleague 'Jerry', witnesses a crime scene and joins a female band under the alias 'Josephine' to survive, instantly falling for the band's vocalist, 'Sugar Kane'.
After successfully wrapping up the Seoul performances, Uhm Ki-joon expressed, "It was an honor to be part of such a wonderful production like 'Sugar'. The moments I shared with the audience as Joe on stage were truly joyous as an actor," adding, "The warm gazes and applause from the audience were a great source of energy and unforgettable memories for me."
