The film 'Boss', starring Jo Woo-jin and Jung Kyung-ho, has surpassed its break-even point just seven days after its release.
'Boss' is a comedic action film that depicts the fierce competition among organization members who are vying for the position of the next boss, each driven by their own dreams. The movie features a star-studded cast including Jo Woo-jin, Jung Kyung-ho, Park Ji-hwan, Lee Kyu-hyung, Oh Dal-su, Hwang Woo-seul-hye, Jung Yoo-jin, Go Chang-seok, and Lee Sung-min.
According to the Korean Film Council's integrated computer network for movie tickets, 'Boss' has maintained its number one position at the box office since its release on the 3rd, becoming a major hit during the Chuseok holiday season. By the seventh day, it had attracted a cumulative audience of 1,729,426, surpassing its break-even point. On its opening day, 'Boss' drew approximately 240,000 viewers, setting a new record for the best opening score for a Korean film released in October since the pandemic began. On the 6th, Chuseok day, it achieved a seat occupancy rate of 40.4%, ranking first in seat sales. It also reached the milestone of 1 million viewers faster than '30 Days', starring Kang Ha-neul and Jung So-min, which was the fastest among Korean films released in October post-pandemic, achieving this feat in just five days.
'Boss' is currently showing in theaters nationwide.
