Director Yeon emphasized the importance of creating new visuals and actions for the infected during production. Choreographer Jeon Young, who previously worked on 'Train to Busan' and 'Peninsula', collaborated with top-tier modern dancers to perfect the movements of the infected in 'The Hive'. Jeon described the project as fulfilling a thirst for dynamic movement. Through numerous rehearsals and detailed planning, the dancers' extraordinary movements emerged, offering a unique and eerie impression that sets the film apart from traditional zombie genres.

'The Hive' enhances realism by minimizing CGI in the depiction of the skyscraper where the outbreak occurs, opting instead for efficiently designed practical sets. Art director Lee Mok-won, who has worked with Yeon on nine projects, stated, "The more realistic the space, the more naturally the surreal stories within it can be accepted by the audience." The film's spatial design vividly portrays the struggle of survivors in isolation, promising to captivate viewers.

The cinematography of 'The Hive', which immerses viewers in the experience of being a trapped survivor, is another highlight. Cinematographer Byun Bong-sun, in his sixth collaboration with Yeon, utilized handheld techniques to amplify the urgency of the outbreak. Overhead shots were used to convey the fundamental horror of the infected, while close-ups captured the nuanced emotions of the survivors. Byun explained, "The camera was intended to be part of the chaotic flow, not just a fixed observer," ensuring that the film draws audiences into the heart of the outbreak.

The production lineup includes renowned figures such as martial arts director Heo Myung-haeng, makeup director Kim Hyun-jung from 'Peninsula', and music director Chae Min-joo from 'The Face', along with the special effects team CELL, long-time collaborators with Yeon. This robust team promises an overwhelming theatrical experience unique to 'The Hive'.

'The Hive' is set to premiere in theaters on May 21.
