Lee Jae-wook Expresses Passion for Action Scenes in Netflix Series 'Dear Hongrang'
Actor Lee Jae-wook has shown a keen interest in action scenes.

On the 19th, an interview was conducted with Lee Jae-wook, who plays the role of Hong-rang, at a café located in Jongno-gu, Seoul, for the Netflix series 'Dear Hongrang'. Lee entered the interview venue in a casual outfit, different from the production presentation, appearing more nervous than during his interview for tvN's 'Alchemy of Souls' (2023), as he shared his thoughts on the release of 'Dear Hongrang'.

'Dear Hongrang' is a mystery melodrama set in the Joseon era, depicting the story of Hong-rang, the son of the largest merchant group who returns after 12 years with no memory, and his half-sister Jae-yi, who is the only one suspicious of his identity, as an inexplicable emotion begins to develop between them. Lee Jae-wook plays Hong-rang, the son returning after 12 years, Jo Bo-ah plays his skeptical half-sister Jae-yi, and Jung Ga-ram takes on the role of Moo-jin, the adopted son of the merchant group. Uhm Ji-won portrays Min Yeon-ui, the mistress of the merchant group, and Park Byung-eun plays Shim Yeol-guk, the head of the merchant group.

Through 'Dear Hongrang', Lee Jae-wook showcased stylish swordplay scenes and expressed his desire for action scenes. He stated, "I received a lot of compliments on the action. It's very rewarding. Unlike other scenes, action isn't created in an instant, so compliments on action feel even better."

He added, "Next, I want to try fist action, using my body." When asked by our reporter if he was challenging actor Ma Dong-seok, Lee blushed and replied, "I have great respect for senior Ma Dong-seok."

Meanwhile, Lee Jae-wook is currently filming the Netflix series 'Honey Part-time Job' and is set to enlist in the military later this year.
