Hyun Woo-seok Shines in Netflix's First Korean YA Horror Series 'GIRIGO'
Hyun Woo-seok stars as Kang Ha-jun in the Netflix series 'GIRIGO', which premiered on the 24th.
'GIRIGO' is Netflix's first Korean YA (Young Adult) horror series. It tells the story of high school students who are suddenly faced with death due to a curse from a wish-granting app called 'GIRIGO', and their struggle to escape the curse.
In the series, Hyun Woo-seok plays Kang Ha-jun, a top science student and the brother of shaman Haet-sal (played by Jeon So-ni). He shares a love-hate relationship with his sister's boyfriend, Bang-ul (played by No Jae-won), but they rely on each other in times of crisis, adding a refreshing dynamic to the series.
Known as the brain among his friends, Kang Ha-jun delves into the app's system to break the curse of 'GIRIGO', following clues with the help of his sister Haet-sal and her boyfriend Bang-ul.
The scene where Bang-ul gets hurt reveals another human side of Kang Ha-jun, who remains rational amidst fear and chaos. His emotional breakdown adds depth to his character, portraying the anxiety and instability beneath his composed exterior.
Hyun Woo-seok, who debuted in the drama 'Love Alarm', previously secured the role of Oh Seung-gwon in Netflix's 'The School Nurse Files' after surpassing a 300:1 competition ratio.
'GIRIGO', featuring Hyun Woo-seok, is currently streaming on Netflix.
