Actor Lee Seo-jin (55) shared his thoughts on taking on his first theater role.

On the October 21st episode of KBS1's 'Morning Yard', the Tuesday segment 'With the Famous', featured Lee Seo-jin and Go Ah-sung, the lead actors of the play 'Uncle Vanya'.

Lee Seo-jin, who is challenging himself with theater for the first time in his 27-year career, said, "This is my first play. It's been nearly 30 years since my debut." He continued, "Initially, I said no. However, after meeting with the production team, who left a good impression, and receiving strong recommendations from those around me, I realized it was a good opportunity. Most people thought I should do it, but I was the only one hesitant."

Regarding his decision to take on the role, Lee Seo-jin explained, "As I get older, my perspective changes, and I try to listen to younger people's opinions. My younger colleagues thought it would be a good idea, so I took their advice." He added, "I will work really hard. I hope many people come to see it."

Lee Seo-jin has primarily focused on dramas and films throughout his career. His last appearance was in the tvN series 'Surviving as a Celebrity Manager' (2022). Since then, he has been active in variety shows such as 'Seojin's', 'Lee Seo-jin's New York New York 2', and 'Too Harsh Manager - Secretary Jin'.

'Uncle Vanya' is one of the four major plays by Russian literary giant Anton Chekhov. Lee Seo-jin plays the titular role of Vanya, while Go Ah-sung portrays his niece Sonya. The play will be performed at the LG Art Center Seoul Signature Hall from May 7 to May 31.
