K-Pop Star Dawn Opens Up About Health Struggles and Relationship Rumors on SBS Show

K-pop artist Dawn found himself in an awkward situation when the topic of relationships came up during a recent TV appearance.

On the October 20th episode of SBS's variety show 'But Seriously', Dawn appeared as a guest alongside BOYNEXTDOOR's Jaehyun and comedian Lee Sang-jun. The show featured a boarding house concept where the guests shared stories.

Dawn explained his reason for visiting the boarding house, saying, “I wanted to move in because my medical bills were too high. I heard the rent was cheap.”

He further revealed, “I caught a cold and couldn’t stop coughing for two months. I even cracked a rib from coughing.” He assured everyone that he is “slowly getting better.”

The boarding house had a strict rule: 'No dating allowed.' When the house owner, Lee Soo-ji, asked the guests, “You don’t have girlfriends, right?” Jaehyun quickly responded, “No,” adding, “If I date, it’s not just a boarding house ban, it’s a big deal.”

Lee Sang-jun then commented, “You need to experience love and breakups to write good songs,” to which Dawn nodded in agreement with his eyes closed. Catching this, Lee Sang-min remarked, “Dawn is nodding and his eyes are saying ‘That’s right.’” Dawn, looking flustered, replied, “I didn’t say anything. I don’t understand. I don’t know.” Dawn had been in a public relationship with HyunA since 2018, but they parted ways in 2022.
