Nam Chang-hee Reveals Jo Se-ho Gave the Most Generous Wedding Gift

After dating for over four years, broadcaster Nam Chang-hee tied the knot with his partner, who is nine years younger, this past February. He revealed that the top wedding gift came from Jo Se-ho.

On the October 18th episode of MBC's variety show 'Radio Star,' episode 957 featured a special titled 'Laughter Officials,' with guests Boom, Moon Se-yoon, Nam Chang-hee, and Kim Sun-tae.

Nam Chang-hee's Bride Known as 'Han River IU'

Nam Chang-hee's wife, who recently had a private wedding, was mentioned to be Yoon Young-kyung, who was once called 'Han River IU' on MBC's 'Infinite Challenge.' Boom expressed his disappointment, saying, "Honestly, I'm a bit upset. He could have told his friends before the wedding, but there wasn't even a photo on the mobile invitation." Nam Chang-hee explained, "She used to be an actress, but now she's an ordinary office worker. She works in the public sector, in the PR team."

Overcoming Family Opposition with YouTube

There was initial opposition from the bride's family before the marriage. Nam Chang-hee shared, "When she first mentioned she was seeing me, they were worried and opposed it," attributing it to the instability of a career in entertainment.

He continued, "Later, I started a YouTube channel called 'Silbi House,' which helped create a family-oriented image. They saw the positive comments and gradually warmed up to me. Over time, they opened their hearts."

Clarifying the Lavish Shilla Hotel Wedding

Regarding the wedding at the luxurious Shilla Hotel, which reportedly cost a fortune, Nam Chang-hee explained, "Hearing it called a lavish wedding made me uncomfortable. But since I'm getting married later in life, I wanted to treat my guests well, so I decided on a hotel venue."

He added, "The wedding planner compared venue estimates, and the Shilla Hotel wasn't much more expensive. I got married in February, which is off-season, and Sunday evenings come with additional discounts. We didn't add any extra floral decorations; everything was standard. Security was provided by the company."

Nam Chang-hee revealed that Jo Se-ho gave the most generous wedding gift, saying, "It was the same amount I gave at his wedding." He expressed gratitude, saying, "Yoo Jae-suk, Hong Jin-kyung, Lee Dong-wook, and others close to me were very generous. I will continue to share the love I've received."
