Jinyoung Park is enchanting viewers with his portrayal of first love in the JTBC Friday series 'Shining'.

In episodes 1 and 2 of 'Shining', Park convincingly portrays Yeon Tae-seo, a character torn between the trauma of losing his family and the excitement of encountering his first love. Currently, 'Shining' ranks 7th in Netflix's global TOP 10 non-English shows, according to the Netflix Tudum TOP 10 website as of March 11.

Park plays Yeon Tae-seo, a transfer student from Seoul, who develops a first love story with Mo Eun-ah, played by Kim Min-ju, whom he first meets at a library during summer vacation. Initially, he maintains a distance, but as they get to know each other, subtle changes in their gazes and tones occur. Scenes where he worries about Mo Eun-ah, who is anxious because of her father, or feels emotional turmoil in front of her, reveal the changes in Yeon Tae-seo's heart.

Most notably, after realizing his love for Mo Eun-ah, Yeon Tae-seo's unwavering expression of his feelings adds intrigue. Park's portrayal of Yeon Tae-seo, who looks at Mo Eun-ah with trembling eyes despite his usually calm and rational demeanor, enhances the narrative. The scene where Yeon Tae-seo sneaks into Mo Eun-ah's room after their first kiss, not wanting to part, captures the essence of an innocent and pure first love.

Additionally, Park's nuanced portrayal of a character who loses his parents in a tragic accident leaves a lasting impression. Despite the difficult circumstances, he remains composed, caring for his sick younger brother Yeon Hee-seo, played by Sung Yoo-bin, and focusing on his studies. Moments when he secretly reminisces about his parents and his emotional scars evoke a deep sense of empathy.

Through his detailed and profound depiction of a young man's excitement and pain, Jinyoung Park adds depth and credibility to his character. Viewers are eager to see what more Park will bring to 'Shining'.

'Shining' airs every Friday at 8:50 PM with two consecutive episodes.
