Jinyoung Park Captivates Viewers with His Portrayal of First Love in 'Shining'
In episodes 1 and 2 of 'Shining', Park convincingly portrays Yeon Tae-seo, a character torn between the trauma of losing his family and the excitement of encountering his first love. Currently, 'Shining' ranks 7th in Netflix's global TOP 10 non-English shows, according to the Netflix Tudum TOP 10 website as of March 11.
Park plays Yeon Tae-seo, a transfer student from Seoul, who develops a first love story with Mo Eun-ah, played by Kim Min-ju, whom he first meets at a library during summer vacation. Initially, he maintains a distance, but as they get to know each other, subtle changes in their gazes and tones occur. Scenes where he worries about Mo Eun-ah, who is anxious because of her father, or feels emotional turmoil in front of her, reveal the changes in Yeon Tae-seo's heart.
Additionally, Park's nuanced portrayal of a character who loses his parents in a tragic accident leaves a lasting impression. Despite the difficult circumstances, he remains composed, caring for his sick younger brother Yeon Hee-seo, played by Sung Yoo-bin, and focusing on his studies. Moments when he secretly reminisces about his parents and his emotional scars evoke a deep sense of empathy.
Through his detailed and profound depiction of a young man's excitement and pain, Jinyoung Park adds depth and credibility to his character. Viewers are eager to see what more Park will bring to 'Shining'.
'Shining' airs every Friday at 8:50 PM with two consecutive episodes.
