Legendary Musicians Unite: Kim Kwang-jin and Rising Band Dragon Pony Share Heartfelt Moments on 'The Seasons - Sung Si-kyung's Ear Boyfriend'
On the October 1st broadcast of KBS2TV's 'The Seasons - Sung Si-kyung's Ear Boyfriend', music legend Kim Kwang-jin appeared, delivering a heartfelt rendition of his timeless classic 'Letter', evoking the same poignant emotions as always.
The episode also featured the unique-voiced Lee Mu-jin, who expressed his long-standing admiration for Sung Si-kyung. Lee Mu-jin, whose hit 'Youth Comic' has stayed on the charts for nearly 600 days, confessed that hearing his song on the streets reignites his creative drive. He explained that he uses the composer team name 'Green Bottle Headquarters' to avoid overshadowing others' work with his style. Sung Si-kyung, in turn, likened his hit 'Every Moment of You' to a dutiful child, showing support for Lee Mu-jin's journey.
Kim Kwang-jin, who revealed it was his first time performing the song on TV in about 20 years, humorously shared that he has been taking vocal lessons to sing like Sung Si-kyung, causing laughter among the audience. Sung Si-kyung responded by encouraging his juniors to emulate Kim Kwang-jin's singing style.
The project group Moyo, consisting of George, Sol, and Thama, also delivered a unique performance. Sol humorously recalled being overwhelmed by Sung Si-kyung's towering presence during their past collaboration, while Thama showcased his hidden comedic talent with a perfect impersonation of Chef Ahn Sung-jae.
Rising band Dragon Pony shared a special connection with Sung Si-kyung, warming the studio atmosphere. Member Pyeon Seong-hyeon reminisced about being eliminated by Sung Si-kyung as a judge on 'Superstar K' during his elementary school days as a band member.
Pyeon Seong-hyeon expressed gratitude, saying, "At the time, Sung Si-kyung advised that true rock is about enjoying the music itself, regardless of the outcome, and that encouragement has kept me on a healthy musical path." This led to a warm embrace between him and Sung Si-kyung. Other members of Dragon Pony also expressed their respect, having used Sung Si-kyung's music as a guide in their practice. Sung Si-kyung graciously responded to the passionate admiration of his juniors, demonstrating his dignity as a senior musician.
