Korean Broadcaster Kim Gura Offers Advice to Players Amidst WBC Drama

Korean broadcaster Kim Gura offered advice to players ahead of the game against Taiwan. Appearing on the second pre-show on the 8th, Kim Gura advised, "Forget about yesterday. Keeping a relaxed mindset is the most important." The game against Taiwan ended in a 4-5 loss after extra innings, prompting commentators Park Yong-taek and Lee Dae-hyung to echo his sentiments, urging the team to "forget and work hard again."

On this day, Korea, led by starting pitcher Ryu Hyun-jin, who returned to the WBC after 17 years, faced a challenging match against Taiwan. In the second inning, Ryu allowed a solo home run to Taiwan's lead-off hitter Chang Yu, giving Taiwan the first score, and recorded one run in three innings. Korea tied the game with an additional run in the bottom of the fifth, but in the top of the sixth, Taiwan's Cheng Tsung-che hit another solo home run, putting Taiwan ahead 2-1.

In the bottom of the sixth, Korea's Kim Do-young hit a two-run home run, giving Korea a 3-2 lead. However, in the bottom of the eighth, Taiwan's Fairchild hit the third home run of the game, allowing Taiwan to regain a 4-3 lead. As Korea struggled to seize the momentum, commentators Park Yong-taek and Lee Dae-hyung noted, "There are still two more offensive opportunities," holding their breath.

Commentator Park Yong-taek remarked, "All our runs were given up through home runs. There are hits that seem like they shouldn't go over the fence, which means we still have opportunities." Commentator Lee Dae-hyung added, "The offense starts from the lower lineup, and it can go up to Kim Do-young. There are still chances," expressing trust in 'King Do-young' Kim Do-young and maintaining a 'positive mindset.'

In the bottom of the eighth, Kim Hye-seong successfully got on base with a walk, and Kim Do-young hit a crucial game-tying RBI, making the score 4-4.
