Kang Seung-yoon Reveals Unique Songwriting Inspiration from Dating Reality Shows
Singer Kang Seung-yoon has unveiled his unique approach to songwriting, drawing musical inspiration from dating reality shows, showcasing his delicate artistic sensibility.

On Super Junior Kyuhyun's YouTube channel 'Kyuhyun,' a video titled '37 Years in the Industry... And Today's Music Shows... (With Kang Seung-yoon)' was uploaded.

In the video, Kang Seung-yoon introduced himself as an avid viewer of dating reality programs, revealing that these shows serve as a crucial source of inspiration in his creative process.

Kang acknowledged the limitations of writing lyrics solely based on personal experiences and confessed that he fills the gap in inspiration through the concentrated emotions found in dating shows.

Having previously served as a panelist on 'Heart Signal 4,' Kang expressed his preference for the show's lyrical sensibility but noted that sometimes he needs the intense immersion offered by shows like 'Transit Love' or 'Single's Inferno.'

Kang Seung-yoon named 'Transit Love' as the program that best aligns with his musical style and shared specific anecdotes from his creative process.

He confessed that he completed the song 'Even If It's a Lie' from his recently released solo album, inspired by the emotions he felt while watching 'Transit Love 2,' which moved many viewers to tears.

The song captures the poignant feeling of realizing a partner's heart has grown cold, yet desperately wishing for comforting words, even if they are lies.

Kang explained that by deeply immersing himself in the narratives of the show's participants and conducting an almost professional analysis, he was able to write lyrics that resonate with the public.

Meanwhile, Kang Seung-yoon has been actively promoting his second solo album 'PAGE 2,' released in November last year.
