Controversy Surrounds 'Shaman Couple' Amid Staged Drama Allegations
The 'Shaman Couple' previously appeared on 'Oh Eun-young Report - Marriage Hell.' In November 2024, they confessed their marital conflicts as a couple possessed by spirits. During the broadcast, the husband had quit his corporate job to support his wife's online cosmetics business, but as the business struggled, he resorted to verbal abuse, shocking viewers.
The husband revealed that he had been treating his depression at a counseling center linked to 'Marriage Hell,' significantly reducing his sense of helplessness. Most importantly, they were now respecting each other without harsh words.
However, just six months after the follow-up episode, the couple appeared on 'Divorce Consideration Camp' as the 'Shaman Couple.' The episode aired on the 12th, revealing their bizarre story.
The husband's video revealed a twist. He had quit his 30-year job at his wife's urging, supporting her business with his severance pay and even paying off her loan debts. However, the wife had no intention of closing the business and was already planning the next venture, leaving him frustrated. Her contradictory stance of asking him to quit and then return to work puzzled everyone.
'Divorce Consideration Camp' has faced allegations of staging before, raising questions about its authenticity. In 2024, the 'Godly Couple' appeared on the show two months after featuring on KBS Joy's 'Ask Anything' with the same story. Previously, they had appeared on 'National Talk Show - Hello' and 'Human Theater,' gaining attention as a devoted grandson-in-law caring for his wife's elderly grandmother. The drastic shift from a devoted in-law to a gaslighting husband led to criticism of appearing for YouTube promotion.
