Netflix's 'Single's Inferno 5,' which promised 'unprecedented intensity,' is making waves with its 'villain' character. The spotlight is on Choi Min-a-su, the first Korean to win the 'Miss Earth' title, one of the world's four major beauty pageants. From her entrance, she captivated attention and became the 'unanimous choice girl,' but soon found herself at the center of controversy for her 'fishing' tactics that even left the MCs shaking their heads.
'Single's Inferno 5' garnered attention even before its release for its provocative content. The teaser featured sensual interactions between male and female participants, with lines like "How do you like the taste of a younger man?" and "I want you." It also hinted at a scene where a man and woman share a hotel bed.
The unveiled 'Single's Inferno 5' featured 'Track and Field Karina' Kim Min-ji and Kim Go-eun, who was previously involved in a dating rumor with singer G-Dragon (GD), catching viewers' eyes. However, the season's standout was Choi Min-a-su. Arriving fashionably late in a bright yellow dress, she captivated with her elegant appearance. During the initial impression selection, Choi Min-a-su received notes from three out of four men, establishing herself as the popular girl.
In episodes 5 to 7, Choi Min-a-su's screen time was overwhelming. Entangled with four men, her constant ranking changes irritated the female participants, and she was seen crying to Lee Sung-hoon while gossiping about the other women. The MCs criticized her, saying, "What's wrong with her?" and "That's rude behavior." Dex, in particular, expressed his discomfort, stating, "I can't empathize with her anymore."
Choi Min-a-su's recent social media post received over 7,000 comments. Most netizens expressed negative sentiments, saying, "Change your attitude," "The ultimate villain," "Wanting every man is not appealing," "She's annoying people worldwide," and "Her number of haters will only grow." However, some defended her, stating, "Such a character is necessary," and "She was just being honest with her feelings."
