Actress Jeon So-ni Discusses Her Role in Netflix's 'You Killed Me' and Her Bold Hair Transformation
On October 10, an interview with Jeon So-ni was conducted at a café in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, regarding her role in the Netflix series 'You Killed Me.' The series tells the story of two women who, faced with a life-or-death situation, decide to commit murder and become entangled in unexpected events. Jeon So-ni plays Jo Eun-soo, a character who fights to save her only best friend, Jo Hee-soo, portrayed by Lee Yoo-mi.
During the interview, Jeon So-ni reflected on portraying her character's teenage years, saying, "The thing I regret the most is the wig. I wanted it to look natural, but it was difficult. It was quite upsetting." She added humorously, "Since it was a flashback scene with a school uniform, I took it lightly. I wouldn't wear it in real life. But since it was the past, I compromised, thinking, 'It's just a memory.'"
In contrast, for the final scenes of the series, Jeon So-ni transformed her hair to a real bleached look instead of using a wig. She explained, "The director wanted to visually show that I had 'found freedom.' He suggested changing my hair color, so I went for the most daring color, bright blonde. It was my first time trying it. I wanted to show it to my friends, but during that period, I couldn't meet anyone and returned to black hair. I only had blonde hair for seven days."
