Turbulent Love Quadrangle Unfolds in 'Dr. Shin' as Breakup Sparks Tension

TV CHOSUN's 'Dr. Shin' has viewers on edge as the complex love quadrangle between Jung Yi-chan, Joo Se-bin, Baek Seo-ra, and Ahn Woo-yeon intensifies following a dramatic breakup.

In the ninth episode aired on the night of the 11th, Shin Joo-shin (played by Jung Yi-chan) decides to break off his engagement with Mo Mo (Baek Seo-ra), who possesses the brain of Kim Jin-joo (Chun Young-min), after she suffers a miscarriage and begins acting irrationally. Mo Mo, fueled by revenge against Geum Ba-ra (Joo Se-bin), attempts to seduce Ha Yong-jung (Ahn Woo-yeon). Despite the dramatic developments, the show's ratings remain at a modest 1.2%.

Initially, it is revealed that Ha Yong-jung's confession at the beach was merely a figment of Geum Ba-ra's imagination. Disappointed by Ha Yong-jung's words, Geum Ba-ra reflects on her feelings, wishing for his companionship despite the absence of her parents, and feeling envious of Mo Mo.

Later, Mo Mo (with Kim Jin-joo's brain) arranges a meeting with Ha Yong-jung through Geum Ba-ra, falsely accusing Shin Joo-shin of hitting her due to the miscarriage. When Geum Ba-ra sides with Shin Joo-shin, Mo Mo lashes out, expressing her resentment and pleading for Ha Yong-jung's help, leaving Geum Ba-ra anxious. Mo Mo taunts Geum Ba-ra, reveling in her own plans for revenge.

Meanwhile, Shin Joo-shin reminisces about happier times with Geum Ba-ra over dinner, recalling a dream symbolizing a future child. However, he returns to reality, smashing a glass in anger over Kim Jin-joo's perceived failures.

When Shin Joo-shin confronts Mo Mo about her miscarriage, she responds with hostility, suggesting they end their engagement. Despite his suggestion to try for another child, Mo Mo insists on breaking up, vowing to keep their secrets buried.

Mo Mo, now focused on Ha Yong-jung, celebrates the glamorous life she anticipates living as Mo Mo, dismissing Shin Joo-shin. After the breakup, a drunken Geum Ba-ra worries about Mo Mo's potential interest in Ha Yong-jung, while Shin Joo-shin imagines Geum Ba-ra in Mo Mo's place, leading him to reach out to her.

Simultaneously, Mo Mo confidently challenges Shin Joo-shin's ability to harm her, contemplating the chaos her true identity would cause. However, her confidence is shaken when Kim Kwang-chul (Cha Kwang-soo) confronts her, demanding proof of Kim Jin-joo's whereabouts, leaving Mo Mo visibly unsettled.

The episode concludes with Shin Joo-shin and Geum Ba-ra, and Mo Mo and Ha Yong-jung, meeting separately, setting the stage for further complications in their tangled relationships.
