Veteran Judge Yoon Jong-shin Self-Reflects on His Judging Style as Taeyeon Joins 'Sing Again 4'
On the morning of the 14th, the production presentation for 'Sing Again 4' was streamed online via the JTBC Music YouTube channel. The event was attended by CP Yoon Hyun-joon, PD Wi Jae-hyuk, and judges Lee Seung-gi, Im Jae-bum, Yoon Jong-shin, Baek Ji-young, Kim Eana, Kyuhyun, Taeyeon, Lee Haeri, and Code Kunst.
'Sing Again 4' is an audition program that offers singers, who are eager to perform, another chance to step back into the spotlight. Lee Seung-gi serves as the MC, with Im Jae-bum, Yoon Jong-shin, Baek Ji-young, Kim Eana, Kyuhyun, Lee Haeri, and Code Kunst as judges. This season, Taeyeon joins as a new judge.
Taeyeon expressed, "Though I've just joined, I'm familiar with the show as I've been a fan. I'm here to experience and discover hidden gems firsthand. It's an honor to be with such esteemed individuals. I believe it's a significant role to offer hope, opportunity, and advice. I'm approaching it with seriousness and caution."
She continued, "During Season 3, I secretly judged from home. Being here and experiencing it live is a great opportunity. Please look forward to my evaluations and the performances of the contestants."
CP Yoon Hyun-joon explained the reason for recruiting Taeyeon, saying, "Even if we hadn't approached her, someone else would have. Being the main vocalist of a top idol group and achieving solo success is no easy feat. She's accomplished it all. Her evaluations are concise and impactful, and we're satisfied with her judging style. There's no question why we chose Taeyeon; she's a worthy judge."
Yoon Jong-shin remarked, "Though she joined later, she gives the most insightful evaluations. Her objectivity and sharpness surprised me. Her critiques align with the standards of a rational singer. Compared to her, I sometimes feel my comments are too simplistic. I tend to focus on humor with Kyuhyun."
'Sing Again 4' airs on the 14th at 10:30 PM.
