Shocking Twist Revealed: Lee Bo-young's Character Suspected in Mother's Murder on 'Mary Kills People'

A shocking twist has been unveiled as Lee Bo-young's character is revealed to be a suspect in her mother's murder.

In the fifth episode of MBC's Friday-Saturday drama 'Mary Kills People,' aired on the 16th, the hidden past of Woo So-jung (played by Lee Bo-young) was revealed, along with the complex emotions of Ban Ji-hoon (played by Lee Min-ki) towards her. Meanwhile, Choi Dae-hyun (played by Kang Ki-young) was forced to take drugs and undergo police investigation due to threats from Goo Kwang-chul (played by Baek Hyun-jin). The episode recorded a nationwide rating of 1.9%.

In the drama, Woo So-jung, who had become a hostage, was stabbed in the abdomen after being caught by Goo Kwang-chul while trying to escape after he shot and killed Kim Si-hyun (played by Oh Eui-sik). Ban Ji-hoon found Woo So-jung bleeding and collapsed, but cut her off when she claimed, "I was threatened," saying, "We'll make that judgment after the investigation." Ban Ji-hoon questioned Woo So-jung, who was lying in the emergency room, about how Kim Si-hyun managed to escape the hospital without being caught on CCTV, but Woo So-jung retorted, "I want to hold the police accountable for failing to control the suspect's escape," leading to a fiery confrontation with Ban Ji-hoon and Detective Bu (played by Tae Hang-ho).

At the same time, Choi Dae-hyun went to find Goo Kwang-chul after hearing that Woo So-jung had been kidnapped and released. However, Goo Kwang-chul was furious, blaming Woo So-jung and Choi Dae-hyun for Kim Si-hyun's capture by the police and claiming he was now in danger. When Choi Dae-hyun explained, "It may be illegal now, but in time it could be a matter of choice and a human right," regarding assisted death, Goo Kwang-chul's eyes sparkled at the "perfectly sleek business item" and he forced Choi Dae-hyun to drink champagne laced with drugs.

While Choi Dae-hyun was unable to answer calls due to the drug's effects, Woo So-jung headed to a welfare hospital at the request of Father Yang (played by Kwon Hae-hyo), with Ban Ji-hoon accompanying her to keep an eye on her. Woo So-jung asked Ban Ji-hoon for help as Lee Yoon-hee (played by Yang Jo-ah) writhed in extreme pain and eventually experienced delirium and more violent convulsions. Woo So-jung eventually shed tears, and Ban Ji-hoon looked at her with changed eyes, seeing her sincerity towards Lee Yoon-hee.

Ban Ji-hoon then revealed his identity as a detective to Father Yang and explained his reason for pursuing Woo So-jung, saying, "No matter the intention, it's something that shouldn't be done," causing Father Yang to feel uneasy. Ultimately, Woo So-jung decided to help Lee Yoon-hee, who was suffering in pain, and called Goo Kwang-chul, saying, "She's in too much pain," and asked for drugs. However, Goo Kwang-chul ominously suggested conducting the new business venture in front of him.

Her mother, who had drowned in a lake near their home, was found with her hands tied behind her back.
