Im Si-wan Expresses Interest in Park Sung-hoon's Role in 'Squid Game 3'

On October 2nd, an interview with Im Si-wan, who plays the character Myung-gi in Netflix's 'Squid Game 3', was conducted at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul. In the series, Myung-gi is a cryptocurrency investment YouTuber who participates in the game and faces internal conflict upon encountering his ex-girlfriend Jun-hee, played by Jo Yu-ri, who is pregnant with his child. His ruthless performance, prioritizing debt repayment over his ex-girlfriend and child, has shocked audiences worldwide.
During the interview, Im Si-wan expressed his desire to play the role of Hyun-joo, a former special forces soldier and transgender character. He stated, "I'm not sure if I would suit the role of Hyun-joo, but if given the chance to switch roles, I would like to try it. It's one of the rare righteous roles in our series. I thought the character of Hyun-joo was really cool."
In the series, Hyun-joo assists the pregnant Jun-hee in various ways. Notably, Hyun-joo meets a tragic end after being stabbed by Myung-gi's knife while protecting Jun-hee and her newborn child from other participants.
'Squid Game 3' has maintained its position at the top globally, ranking number one in 89 countries. According to FlixPatrol, a global OTT content ranking site, 'Squid Game 3' topped the Netflix global TV show category as of October 6th.
