Previously, Hani was set to marry Yang Jae-woong, a psychiatrist 10 years her senior, in September. However, the wedding was postponed following the death of a woman in her 30s who was a patient at Yang's mental health clinic. The announcement of their wedding coincided with the time of the patient's death, leading to public criticism directed at Hani. Consequently, she withdrew from scheduled program appearances.

Despite the postponed wedding, the couple's agency has dismissed breakup rumors, stating, "There is no change in their relationship."

In March, Hani made her return to the spotlight by appearing with her EXID members on KBS2's 'Immortal Songs' during the Baby V.O.X special.
