Kim Bo-yeon Shares Behind-the-Scenes of Her Bold Romance with Lee Tae-gon in 'Baekban Journey'

On the recent episode of TV Chosun's 'Heo Young-man's Baekban Journey,' actress Kim Bo-yeon shared insights into her daring romantic scenes with Lee Tae-gon, who is 20 years her junior.

During the episode aired on the 15th, Kim Bo-yeon embarked on a culinary journey through Hongcheon’s winter dishes. She reminisced about her debut, saying, "Back then, broadcasting stations recruited actors. I saw a notice for talent recruitment on a bus before I even graduated. It was nerve-wracking."

Kim Bo-yeon also had a stint as a singer. Encouraged by a record label after seeing her perform, she debuted with the song 'Adolescence,' which topped the charts for five consecutive weeks.

In the drama 'Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce),' Kim portrayed a wife who marries for money and turns a blind eye to her husband's death. She revealed, "There were no stage directions in the script. Writer Im Sung-han asked me to interpret it myself, which was quite a burden."

Kim also played a stepmother who harbors feelings for her stepson, played by Lee Tae-gon, who is 20 years younger. She expressed her apologies to her co-star, saying, "I tried hard not to appear unlikeable. I wanted to convey that her life experiences could justify her actions, so I paid attention to every look and gesture."

A notable scene involved a bath. When asked if they bathed together, Kim clarified, "No, I was in the bathtub when my son (Lee Tae-gon) walked in." She added, "When else would I get such a role in my life? It had romance and thrill. I joined the project knowing this and was determined to do well." A scene where Kim shyly kisses Lee on the cheek is considered iconic.

Kim recommended 'Baekban Journey' to her 'younger man' co-star Lee Tae-gon. She left a video message saying, "It's been a while, and I haven't heard from you lately. 'Baekban Journey' is great. It's comfortable, but you might find yourself talking too much. You should definitely appear on it."
