Actor Jo In-sung Discusses Reasons for Remaining Single and Views on Marriage
Born in 1981, actor Jo In-sung shared his thoughts on why he remains unmarried.
On the 9th, the YouTube channel 'Jjanhyung Shin Dong-yup' uploaded a video titled "Jo In-sung {Jjanhyung} EP. 58 In-sung, the Good-hearted Elderly Man from Bangi-dong." Jo In-sung appeared as a guest and shared his views. Regarding marriage, Jo In-sung said, "I am satisfied with my current life. Whether I am in a relationship or not, I am content. Saying 'I must get married' or 'I will never get married' seems too extreme."
He humorously added, "I often joke with my friends that I will move into a retirement home earlier than anyone else. It seems that having too much information can be a disadvantage. I should have done it when I knew less." He continued, "Now that I am at the age to get married, my mother says, 'You should at least have one child.'"
Shin Dong-yup commented, "You are living well and receiving public love, but there are still things you don't know. Your mother is so happy because of you, and you might never fully understand that. I hope you realize that." Jo In-sung confessed, "These days, people say that getting married and raising children is 'normal life,' but how difficult that normal life is and how mature those people must be." He added, "Sometimes I think that my parents are the only ones who will never betray me and are my best teachers and seniors." He reflected, "As a child, I sometimes think, 'If my mother had loved me more or if my parents had provided a more affluent life, I would have been different.' But just being here without any problems is already a significant achievement by them." Regarding the possibility of dating, Jo In-sung said, "It comes and goes." He shared, "I had a life consultation with senior Bae Sung-woo over the phone this year. I wondered if I would be competitive in meeting younger friends, as I am more likely to meet people younger than me."
Jo In-sung speculated, "Without my fame, would younger people still like me? From my 20s to 44, even up to 60, everyone is a competitor." He humorously added, "When I asked Sung-woo hyung if I would be competitive, he replied, 'Why are you doing this to me?'"
