Yang Se-hyung Challenges Brother Yang Se-chan with New Variety Show 'The Ultimate Mountain'

Comedian Yang Se-hyung has issued a playful challenge to his brother Yang Se-chan, who is appearing on a competing show airing at the same time.

On the 28th, a press conference for MBC's new variety show 'The Ultimate Mountain' was held at the Golden Mouse Hall in MBC Broadcasting Center, Mapo-gu, Seoul. The event was attended by comedians Yoo Se-yoon, Jang Dong-min, Heo Kyung-hwan, Boom, Yang Se-hyung, and producer Kim Myung-yeop.

'The Ultimate Mountain' is a groundbreaking variety show set in the mountains, where participants engage in various missions, battling fiercely to reach the summit. It is the first of its kind in Korea, focusing on survival and competition in a rugged mountain setting.

Producer Kim Myung-yeop explained the decision to cast only comedians for the show. He stated, "If the goal of a variety show is to make people laugh, then comedians are the best fit for the job. There seems to be a demand for light-hearted entertainment that doesn't require much thought. I wanted to create that kind of show, which is why I assembled this team."

Jang Dong-min expressed satisfaction with the all-comedian lineup. He said, "When I first saw the cast of 'The Ultimate Mountain,' I felt at ease. Having people to rely on means I don't have to carry the entire show myself. I believe this comfortable chemistry will resonate with viewers."

Yang Se-hyung also mentioned his brother Yang Se-chan, who is currently appearing on the competing show 'Running Man.' He commented, "We are engaging in friendly competition. The more comedians compete, the more entertaining the shows become. I think having a lot of competition is a good thing," but added with a playful jab, "Se-chan, remember, I'm still your older brother."

When Jang Dong-min asked which show their mother would choose between 'The Ultimate Mountain' and 'Running Man,' Yang Se-hyung humorously replied, "Our mother watches '1 Night 2 Days.'"

'The Ultimate Mountain' is set to premiere on the 3rd of next month at 6 PM.
