MBC's New Variety Show 'The Best Mountain' Features Comedian Heo Kyung-hwan in a 'Dex Role'
On the 28th, a production presentation for MBC's new variety show 'The Best Mountain' was held at the Golden Mouse Hall in the MBC Broadcasting Center in Mapo-gu, Seoul. The event was attended by entertainers Yoo Se-yoon, Jang Dong-min, Heo Kyung-hwan, Boom, Yang Se-hyung, and producer Kim Myung-yeop.
MBC's new variety program 'The Best Mountain' is the first-ever survival mountain variety show in Korea, featuring intense competition through various missions in the mountains.
Producer Kim Myung-yeop shared the inspiration behind 'The Best Mountain.' He stated, "This program originated from Yoo Se-yoon's 'loser' comment to other nominees at last year's MBC Entertainment Awards, where he won the Best Award." He added, "We didn't initially plan to go to the mountains, but the cast wanted to try something new, so we chose the mountains as the theme."
Kim PD explained why he cast Heo Kyung-hwan. He said, "While working on 'Radio Star,' I cast Heo Kyung-hwan four times. It was like buying low. Recently, he has become an entertainer with strength, looks, and popularity. I couldn't resist casting him."
Kim PD continued, "In programs like 'Born to Travel the World,' a 'Dex role' is necessary. Someone handsome and cool. In this team, I thought Heo Kyung-hwan could take on the Dex role."
'The Best Mountain' will premiere on the 3rd of next month at 6 PM.
