Actress Ock Joo-hyun shares the reasons behind her meticulous self-management.

On today's (8th) episode of TV CHOSUN's 'Baekban Journey with Heo Young-man' (hereafter 'Baekban Journey'), the celebrated musical actress Ock Joo-hyun embarks on a trip to Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, a popular destination near Seoul.

Ock Joo-hyun, who debuted as the main vocalist of the original idol group 'Fin.K.L', is now an icon of Korean musicals, with every show she stars in selling out. She returns as Oscar in the musical 'The Rose of Versailles' and shares her candid stories.

Known for her exceptional talent and rigorous self-management, Ock Joo-hyun has even earned the nickname 'Ock Doctor'. She reveals the special reason behind her dedication to self-care, stating, 'Watching my father struggle with a long illness during my childhood made me aware of the importance of health earlier than others.' She also shares her story of becoming the head of her family at the young age of 18 after her debut.

Ock Joo-hyun also discloses an unexpected episode that occurred on stage. She recounts a moment when her extraordinary strength led her to accidentally break a chair while expressing anger during a performance, leaving the audience astonished.

To support Ock Joo-hyun, actor Kim Sung-sik, who plays Andre in 'The Rose of Versailles', makes a surprise appearance on 'Baekban Journey'. Kim Sung-sik, with the enthusiasm of a newcomer, impresses Heo Young-man with his charm. He also shares a heartwarming story from 2017 when Ock Joo-hyun, who was the lead in the musical 'Rebecca', took great care of her junior colleagues, adding to the warmth of the episode.

Ock Joo-hyun and the host visit a famous restaurant in Baegam-myeon, known for its Baegam Sundae, which has been in business for 60 years. They enjoy a variety of dishes, including Sundae Gukbap, Osori Gamtu, pig ears, and pork tongue. The culinary journey continues with Kal Mandu Guk, a noodle soup with dumplings, and braised pork ribs with six kinds of wild vegetables, offering a feast of diverse flavors.
