Korean Rock Legend Kim Tae-won Opens Up About Health Struggles and Family Life
On October 24, a video titled 'Daughter's Wedding, Father's Last... and Boohwal' was uploaded to the YouTube channel 'Kim Tae-won Class'.
In the video, Kim appeared noticeably frail. When the production team mentioned his 18-month hiatus, Kim revealed, "I was hospitalized four times."
He also shared, "In life, I tend to remember the painful moments more than the good ones. My father's passing was a tremendous shock," expressing his sorrow.
Kim Tae-won expressed his determination to create music that comforts those who have lost their fathers, saying, "I will do my best to make music that brings solace to many who had fathers like mine."
Updating on his daughter's life, Kim said, "My daughter is doing well in the United States. We have a son-in-law who fits well with us. He has a mature soul, and that's more important than having a lot of money," he proudly shared.
Park Wan-kyu mentioned, "It wasn't reported in the news, but it was quite dangerous this time. Tae-won hyung collapsed twice this year (2025). He suddenly collapsed the day before the 11th memorial concert for the late Shin Hae-chul and was taken to the emergency room. He recovered well and even greeted the audience on stage afterward, but he collapsed again a month and a half later," expressing his concern.
Park continued, "Things aren't good in many ways. Hyung said, 'I didn't cross that river and came back,' and hearing that makes me wish he would take better care of himself," revealing his deep care for Kim Tae-won.
