Comedian Hwang Young-jin revealed why he had no choice but to become a poor husband despite being rich in billions of cash.

In the SBS entertainment show 'Same Bed, Different Dreams Season 2 - You Are My Destiny' (hereinafter referred to as 'Same Bed, Different Dreams 2'), which aired on the 6th, comedian Hwang Young-jin, who has been married for 11 years, and his wife Kim Da-som, joined as the new destined couple.

On this day, Hwang Young-jin was introduced as a ‘cash rich person’ who received tens of millions of won in bank interest alone. Kim Gu-ra guessed that Hwang Young-jin had at least 1 billion won saved in the bank. Hwang Young-jin's wife was 10 years younger than him and graduated from the Department of Journalism and Broadcasting at Kyung Hee University.

Hwang Young-jin said, ‘I want to become a male power owner,’ and revealed a unique way to save money. He revealed that his wife's first date was at Seodaemun Prison, where there is no admission fee, and that they also went on their honeymoon to Koh Samui, Thailand, which was sponsored by a travel agency event. Most of the home appliances and furniture in Hwang Young-jin's house were also surprised by the fact that they were purchased through second-hand transactions or sponsorships.

Hwang Young-jin’s wife said, “When comedian wives gathered together to talk, my husband was chosen as the number one comedian they would hate to live with. “They said I was in such dire straits,” he explained.

After running errands at home several times, Hwang Young-jin got off the house and said, "I have a small amount of urine. So it would be a waste to throw it away all at once," and mixed all the leftover food of the two children and ate it as fried rice. He also washed the dishes by adjusting the water pressure, wiping his mouth with a wet tissue, wiping the table, and even wiping his shoes and the entrance floor.

Hwang Young-jin deposited 100 million won to his wife and said, “I have it.” Dasom Kim explained, "There were times when I had 50 million won or 100 million won saved up. I didn't use it all, but I saved it and used it when needed." Hwang Young-jin has been working as a comedian for 21 years, and said that he has been saving 80% of his income for all 21 years.

Regarding the reason for saving money, Hwang Young-jin said, “I lived alone for a long time. I have lived and gone to school alone since I was in the 5th grade of elementary school. My mother worked in a local area and my older brother was on the sports team, so we lived in a dormitory. There was a lack of notes, books, and other things. I couldn't even pack a lunch box. “I continued to save and endure without eating,” he said.

He continued, “I was anxious after meeting my wife, starting a family, and becoming a father. The idea was to never pass on poverty. I thought it was not my fault to be born poor, but it was my fault to die poor. “Even if it’s hard for me, I want my wife and children to live a prosperous life,” he said, shedding tears.

Youngjin Hwang said, “I really hate poverty. I'm sick of it. So I lived really hard. “My goal is to make my family rich and live without poverty,” he said.
