'Prisoner' Ahn Eun-jin, 'Prisoner Hunter' Namgoong Min... Lover 2, D-1

On October 13th, Part 2 of MBC's Friday-Saturday drama 'Lovers' (planned by Hong Seok-woo/directed by Kim Seong-yong, Lee Han-joon, Cheon Su-jin/written by Hwang Jin-young) will finally be unveiled. 'Lovers' Part 1, which first aired last August, received great love as a 'luxury historical drama' that perfectly blended the three elements of script, directing, and actors. As proof of this, 'Lovers' Part 1 recorded the highest viewership rating of 12.2% (Nielsen Korea nationwide), standing tall as the strongest Friday-Saturday drama on all channels.
Accordingly, expectations for ‘Lovers’ Part 2 are also high. The Part 2 teaser and pre-release previously released by the production team of 'Lovers' recorded an explosive number of views and became a hot topic. Meanwhile, on October 11th, the preview for the 11th episode of 'Lovers', which will touch the hearts of 'lovers in ruins', was released. Following the previously released 'Lovers' Part 2 teaser exceeding 690,000 video clip views, the 11th preview released this time also easily surpassed 260,000 clip views in just one day, proving its tremendous popularity.
The preview for episode 11 of 'Lovers' begins with Lee Jang-hyun (played by Namgoong Min) and Yoo Gil-chae (played by Ahn Eun-jin) recalling each other in different places. In Lee Jang-hyeon’s words, “This time, I lost you forever,” you can feel his regret for the past when he had no choice but to break up with Yoo Gil-chae. Also, through Lee Jang-hyeon suffering alone, we can see the deep affection of Lee Jang-hyun, who still holds Yu Gil-chae in his heart even after the breakup.
Lee Jang-hyun was not the only one suffering. Yu Gil-chae, who remained in Hanyang, is suddenly kidnapped by someone. Yu Gil-chae said, “I have never been a prisoner. So, put me down right now!” she shouts, but her cries do not reach her. As Yoo Gil-chae faces the harsh ordeal of possibly becoming a prisoner of war, the images of Lee Jang-hyeon, now a captive hunter, intersect. At this time, a new character, Gak-hwa (Lee Cheong-ah), appears briefly, heightening the tension.
Next, the sad and sorrowful fate of Lee Jang-hyeon and Yoo Gil-chae, which seem out of reach, is hinted at. Yu Gil-chae, helplessly muttering, “Please help me,” as he is dragged away with empty eyes as if he has lost his soul; Lee Jang-hyeon, screaming in resentment at someone, “Why did you come here?” and throwing his body away, saying, “I must cross this river today.” . Curiosity is rising about what will happen to these two people, how they will reunite in this crisis, and what direction their love will take.
The preview for episode 11 of 'Lovers' has an impact, including Lee Jang-hyun's pure love for Yoo Gil-chae, the trials that come to Yoo Gil-chae, the fate and heartbreaking love between Lee Jang-hyun and Yoo Gil-chae that seem out of reach, and even the existence of a new character, Gak-hwa. Through this, it was shown that the fate of Lee Jang-hyun and Yoo Gil-chae would be whipped up like a roller coaster from the beginning of Part 2. Actors such as Namgoong Min and Ahn Eun-jin increased immersion with deeper and more sorrowful performances.
Accordingly, many viewers said, “It was hard to wait,” “Please let these two meet quickly,” “I’ve waited so, so long,” “Finally, part 2,” and “I don’t know how many times I’ve watched the preview video.” “Lee Jang-hyun’s action scenes are cool.” “What on earth happened to Yoo Gil-chae…” ” and other reactions of curiosity and anticipation poured out.
Episodes 11 and 12, which will begin Part 2 of MBC's Friday-Saturday drama 'Lovers', will be expanded to 90 minutes. Accordingly, episodes 11 and 12 of ‘Lovers’ will be broadcast at 9:40 pm, 10 minutes earlier than before, on Friday, October 13th and Saturday, October 14th, respectively.
