MBC daily drama, is Kim Yoo-seok’s ‘Fate in Heaven’ possible?

As 'The Witch's Game', starring actress Jang Seo-hee, is about to end with a low viewership rating of around 5%, she is confident that the follow-up film 'Fate in the Sky' will show the quality of a mini-series.

On the 13th, a production presentation for the new daily drama 'A Destiny in the Sky' was held at MBC Golden Mouse Hall in Sangam-dong, Seoul. Attending the event were actors Kim Yoo-seok, Jeon Hye-yeon, Jung Woo-yeon, Seo Han-gyeol, Jin Jin-hyung, Go Eun-mi, Jo Eun-sook, Byun Woo-min, Jo Mi-ryeong and director Kim Jin-hyung.

'A Destiny in Heaven' is a story about a father and daughter who became enemies due to a tragedy caused by their father's wrong desires and finally realize their heavenly love. It contains a stark confrontation between good and evil presented by writer Yeo Yeong-mi of 'Yellow Assassin' and director Kim Jin-hyung of 'Secret House'.

Director Kim Jin-hyeong said, “The intention was to tell the story of heavenly love, human nature, and humanity through the story of a father and daughter living in heavenly hell. Although it is disguised as a revenge drama, we want to talk about humanity.”

Kim Yoo-seok played the role of Kang Chi-hwan, who abandoned his former lover and child and chose Jeon Mi-gang (Go Eun-mi), the daughter of a wealthy man, in order to gain wealth and power.

Kim Yoo-seok said, “I had a hard time dealing with the extreme and unconvincing settings that are often discussed while doing daily dramas. This drama also has such codes, but it is a structure in which the strong inner feelings of the characters are well built up.”

He continued, "There was excitement, tension, and fear while filming. It was a character I couldn't understand, but the process of building it up was difficult. There were parts that were resolved during filming, and there were also bumps in the road. If there's joy, I'm gradually building up confidence. "he said.

Go Eun-mi takes on the role of Jeon Mi-kang, who married her former lover Yoon I-chang (Lee Hoon)'s child, Kang Se-na (Jung Woo-yeon), by tricking her into thinking she was Kang Chi-hwan's daughter. Go Eun-mi said, "I have a vocal cord nodule, so my voice is rough. Since I'm playing the role of a chaebol, I think I'll have a lot to show in terms of clothes and fashion. I've done all kinds of bad things on my own, but this time, Kim Yoo-seok does it all. I'm the one who makes him take revenge." “It’s a bit different because it’s a character,” he explained.

Jeon Hye-yeon plays Lee Hae-in, a daughter abandoned by her father's desires. Jeon Hye-yeon introduced, "She is a child with excellent empathy for others. She has been going through difficult times since she was young, but she is a person who lives bravely thanks to the love of her adoptive parents."

Jeon Hye-yeon, who took on her first leading role through this work, said, "I was nervous and burdened during the long 120-episode run, but thanks to the help of my seniors, I was able to let go of the burden while filming.

He continued, "I'm not good at makeup, but the character Lee Hye-in dreams of becoming a makeup artist, so I'm practicing how to do it professionally through YouTube. Also, I'm wondering how I can better express Hye-in's bright, positive energy and lovely charms. “We are researching it,” he added.

Ha Jin-woo, played by Seo Han-gyeol, is a business administration student who tried directing plays. He is a free-spirited and energetic young man, but he harbors painful memories of losing his mother right before his eyes and having his smile erased.

When asked about synchronization with the character, Seo Han-gyeol said, "I think we have a lot in common in that actions are more important than words and that I try to be honest about myself. I'm a bit shy and unfriendly, but Jin-woo isn't like that, so I try to live like Jin-woo." “I’m doing it,” he said.

Jin Jin-hyung is the son of Kang Chi-hwan's family's housekeeper and plays the role of Moon Do-hyeon, who has a crush on Kang Sena. Jo Eun-sook and Lee Hoon play Na Jeong-im and Yoon I-chang, Lee Hae-in's (Jeon Hye-yeon) adoptive parents.

Byun Woo-min played the role of Ha Yun-mo, a member of the royal family from birth. Mi-ryeong Jo plays Chae Young-eun, who remarries Ha Yun-mo, and forms a rivalry with Jeon Mi-gang, who served her throughout her school days.

Jo Mi-ryeong said, "There is an elegant oral action with Go Eun-mi. It is so fun to act. My character is so unique that I wonder if she is a crazy woman."
