Actress Moon So-ri once again proved the power of an acting queen that needs no qualifier through the Netflix series 'Queen Maker', which was released on the 14th.

'Queen Maker', in which Moon So-ri appears, is a Netflix series that depicts the struggle and solidarity between human rights lawyer Oh Kyung-sook (Moon So-ri), who meets image-making genius Hwang Do-hee (Kim Hee-ae), and becomes the mayor of Seoul.

Moon So-ri led the play until the end, giving a passionate performance as Oh Kyeong-sook, a confident and just person who does not give in to all kinds of pressure as a candidate for mayor of Seoul. Moon So-ri, who was pushed into extreme situations such as being betrayed by someone she trusted or having her family's daily life threatened in the bloody struggle that was constantly taking place in the fierce election battle, burst out with explosive emotions, arousing regret in the viewers.

In particular, the scene where Oh Kyung-sook shows a perfect makeover as a candidate for Seoul mayor is considered a famous scene. The sight of him campaigning, changing from shabby clothes and long flowing hair to a formal short cut, was reminiscent of an actual election situation. Then, during a live debate, the scene where she took off her corset and embarrassed the opposing candidate clearly showed the identity of Oh Gyeong-sook's character.

The scene that showed Oh Kyung-sook's warm loyalty moved viewers. His affection for Hwang Do-hee, whom he had been busy ignoring and criticizing, blossomed as time passed. They showed true friendship by running to Dohee's father's funeral and giving him a warm hug. The scene where he held the hand of Hwa-soo (played by Kim Sun-young), who betrayed him, and embraced everything, also conveyed affection.

Moon So-ri plans to convey empathy and comfort by showing the classics of office drama in the Disney+ original series 'Race', which is scheduled to be released in May.

◆ Below is a Q&A provided by Moon So-ri through her agency.Q. What was your first impression of ‘Queen Maker’?
A. When I looked at the script, it seemed like a work that had a structure that existing drama viewers like and a challenging yet new aspect. The story of revenge and desire and the fact that two women are active in the political arena gave me a unique appeal. Trying something new can feel risky, but this work felt like all the elements came together appropriately.

Q. How did you feel when you got to star in a two-female drama with actress Kim Hee-ae?
A. I acted comfortably to the point where I thought, ‘I can rely on senior Kim Hee-ae, and I can bury her.’ Senior Kim Hee-ae took a strong lead and I was able to play to my heart’s content next to her. Also, regarding the fact that it was a two-woman work, I think I felt like I wanted to see a work like this as an audience member before I was an actor.

Q. ‘Queen Maker’ is a work that depicts the process of Oh Kyung-sook becoming a ‘queen’. How did you interpret the character ‘Oh Gyeong-sook’?
A. I think the character Oh Kyung-sook has been a ‘queen’ since her days as a lawyer. I think she has always been a 'queen' not because she has a high rank, but because she has lived together as the center of market merchants and laid-off women, more than just helping them. She has always led from the center. After meeting Hwang Do-hee, I think I became a ‘queen’ in a different way. There are moments of shakiness and moments of wanting to give up, but in the end, I think the sincerity of trying to protect one's world view and values solidifies the relationship between Oh Gyeong-sook and Hwang Do-hee, and makes the fight that takes place in the play more exciting.

Q. What do you think about the relationship between Oh Kyung-sook and Hwang Do-hee?
A. I think Oh Kyung-sook is a person who places great importance on relationships with people. The moment Oh Gyeong-sook decided to form a relationship with Hwang Do-hee, she must have felt responsible for him, and once she looked into Hwang Do-hee's human side, she had no choice but to embrace him. While filming, I learned a lot about Oh Kyung-sook's human side when she was with Hwang Do-hee, so I thought, 'This relationship won't end easily.'

Q. Are there any memorable episodes?
A. I remember the first day of filming with senior Kim Hee-ae. It was a scene of a rooftop sit-in protest. Before filming that scene, I thought Oh Kyung-sook was a bit tougher, but after actually working with senior Kim Hee-ae, I thought, 'It would be better if I had a little more control over my strengths and weaknesses.' Watching senior Kim Hee-ae stand firm, I thought it would be much more interesting to contrast Hwang Do-hee as a character who stays upright and strong without wavering, while Oh Gyeong-sook is someone who shakes a lot and feels like falling but gets up quickly, but never breaks down. did.

Q. One last word of greeting.
A. ‘Queen Maker’ is a work that I really enjoyed filming. I hope viewers will have fun and enjoy watching it.
