TenAsia reporter Ryu Ye-ji takes a proper look at the entertainment industry incidents and accidents that are attracting the most attention.
tvN's new entertainment show 'Busan Country Boy in Sydney' is suffering from a setback even before its departure. This is because tvN took the unusual step of not holding a production presentation again following last year's drama 'Eve'.
‘Busan Country Boy in Sydney’ starring Ahn Bo-hyun, Heo Seong-tae, Lee Si-eon, and Kwak Tube (Kwak Jun-bin) is a new program that airs at 10:50 pm on the 23rd. However, the production presentation was not held before the first broadcast, so proper promotion was not possible.

The production presentation is an event where the production team and cast introduce the program before the first broadcast. It is very unusual for a broadcasting company or production company to not hold a production presentation because it is an opportunity to promote a work to reporters.
Because of this, the cast lost the opportunity to meet viewers from the beginning. Some point out that the officially known members' schedules are not at a level where coordination is impossible.

However, the broadcasting company did not even show sincerity in preparing an online production presentation. Because of this, it became impossible for cast members to promote the show by talking about filming episodes, chemistry between each other, etc.

At the time, tvN said, “Due to the filming schedule, including post-production work, we were unable to hold the ‘Eve’ production presentation. He was busy coming up with inexplicable excuses, saying, “In order to improve the perfection of the play, we had to postpone the programming.”

Accordingly, the previously scheduled online production presentation was also postponed indefinitely. At the time, tvN sent a notification email to reporters 18 hours before the event started.
In one year, tvN gave up the opportunity to meet the public three times. Due to the series of production presentation disruptions and rubber band scheduling, the cast members also lost the opportunity to meet viewers.
They may have judged that the promotional effect of the production presentation itself was not significant. There is some truth in protesting that this is a change due to a change in the media consumption environment. However, the production presentation is the first greeting to viewers. This is why some point out that regardless of the effect, it is a basic courtesy to viewers. It was called Sotamdaesil. The broadcasting industry is looking at tvN with concern.
