Actor-Director Jung Woo Expresses Gratitude to Wife Kim Yoo-mi for Her Support in His Directorial Debut 'Jjanggu'
Actor and director Jung Woo has expressed his gratitude to his wife, Kim Yoo-mi, for her support.

On the 20th, an interview was conducted with Jung Woo, who plays the titular role in the film 'Jjanggu', at a café located in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul. Jung Woo not only wrote the screenplay for 'Jjanggu' but also stars in and directs the film, marking his directorial debut. His wife, Kim Yoo-mi, is credited as a producer.

'Jjanggu' is a humorous and passionate story about an aspiring actor, Jjanggu (played by Jung Woo), who perseveres despite numerous failed auditions. The character Jjanggu, from the film 'Wind', returns to the screen after 16 years.

During the interview, Jung Woo expressed immense gratitude to his wife, actress Kim Yoo-mi. He revealed that it was Kim who connected him with the production company for 'Jjanggu'. Jung Woo stated, "Although she is credited as a producer, she demonstrated abilities beyond that of a creator, for which I am truly thankful. As the screenwriter, lead actor, and director, it was challenging to recognize when I was going astray on set. In those moments, my wife was a great help."

He added, "My wife is a graduate of an arts high school and a senior in this field who has studied systematically. Her objective perspective was incredibly supportive, and I relied on her a lot."

'Jjanggu' is set to be released on the 22nd.
