Cho Jung-seok Wins Best Actor at 45th Golden Cinematography Awards for 'My Daughter is a Zombie'

Actor Cho Jung-seok has clinched his first trophy for the film 'My Daughter is a Zombie'.

On November 2, at the 45th Golden Cinematography Awards held at the CG Art Hall in Gangnam, Cho Jung-seok was awarded Best Actor for his role in 'My Daughter is a Zombie'.

Celebrating its 45th year, the Golden Cinematography Awards is a film festival organized by the Korean Society of Cinematographers, aiming to enhance the cinematography skills in Korean cinema and discover new faces on the screen.

Upon receiving the award, Cho Jung-seok expressed, "This is my first time attending the Golden Cinematography Awards, and I'm grateful to receive such a significant award. It's even more meaningful because it's given by cinematographers."

He continued, "I want to sincerely thank the director, all the actors, and staff who worked on 'My Daughter is a Zombie'. Above all, I am truly grateful to the audience who loved 'My Daughter is a Zombie'."

He concluded, "I believe this award is an encouragement to contribute to the development of Korean cinema. I will work harder to create great films with directors and repay with better performances and movies. Thank you."

In 'My Daughter is a Zombie', Cho Jung-seok plays 'Jung-hwan', a father who undergoes secret training to protect the last remaining zombie daughter in the world. His profound acting skills and delicate expressions have earned him the reputation of being a 'trustworthy actor'.

'My Daughter is a Zombie' attracted 5.62 million viewers, setting records for the highest opening score for a Korean comedy film and ranking first in the 2025 overall box office. It also received positive reviews in Taiwan, Singapore, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Hong Kong.

Meanwhile, Cho Jung-seok is set to meet fans with his first nationwide tour concert 'Cho Jung-seok Show: Side B', starting at the BEXCO Auditorium in Busan on November 22. Recently, his wife, Gummy, announced her second pregnancy, receiving congratulations.
