Lee Min-ho Captivates as Yoo Jung-hyuk in 'Omniscient Reader'

The charismatic character stills of Lee Min-ho as Yoo Jung-hyuk in the film 'Omniscient Reader' have been unveiled. Lee Min-ho's intense gaze and solitary aura are drawing attention.

'Omniscient Reader' is a fantasy action film where the world of a novel, serialized for over a decade, becomes reality on the day it concludes. The story follows Kim Dok-ja, the novel's sole reader, as he teams up with the protagonist Yoo Jung-hyuk and other allies to survive in a post-apocalyptic world.

Lee Min-ho, known for his global appeal in dramas like 'Ask the Stars', 'Pachinko 1 & 2', 'The King: Eternal Monarch', 'The Legend of the Blue Sea', and 'The Heirs', takes on the irreplaceable role of Yoo Jung-hyuk in 'Omniscient Reader'. Yoo Jung-hyuk, the protagonist of the novel 'Three Ways to Survive in a Ruined World', possesses overwhelming skills and strength, capable of clearing every scenario with his ability to restart from the beginning even after death. His presence and visuals captivate from the moment he appears, and his complex emotions and explosive action sequences heighten audience immersion.

Despite becoming cynical from clearing numerous scenarios, Yoo Jung-hyuk's interest is piqued when he meets Kim Dok-ja (played by Ahn Hyo-seop) on Dongho Bridge, who creates situations different from what he knows. Although Kim Dok-ja extends a hand to join forces, Yoo Jung-hyuk, who finds it hard to trust others, subjects him to further trials. The evolving relationship between Yoo Jung-hyuk and Kim Dok-ja, the sole reader who admired him for over a decade, and the outcome they create together, are fueling audience anticipation.

Lee Min-ho shared, "I pondered a lot about the loneliness of a human surviving alone in an immortal life. Given the character's continuous battles, I put a lot of effort into preparing for the action scenes." He added, "I had to portray this universe through Yoo Jung-hyuk, and he needed to feel real for the audience to find the journey of overcoming crises within this universe convincing." Lee Min-ho approached the character with meticulous attention, stating, "I thought a lot about how to exist without seeming fake, from action moves to gaze and expressions."

'Omniscient Reader' is set to hit theaters nationwide this July.
