South Korean Actress Nam Gyu-ri Set to Captivate Cannes with 'Dongyo Gwi-dam'
South Korean actress Nam Gyu-ri is poised to captivate audiences at Cannes. Her latest project, 'Dongyo Gwi-dam,' has been invited to the non-competitive section of the Cannes International Series Festival.

Nam Gyu-ri stars in 'Dongyo Gwi-dam,' an omnibus horror thriller produced by Kotap Media. The series reimagines eerie tales hidden within familiar children's songs, presenting them as modern horror stories. The series consists of six episodes, with Nam Gyu-ri leading the 'Home Sweet Home' episode.

'Home Sweet Home' transforms the well-known children's song that begins with “Even if they call me to a joyful place, my resting place is my small home” into a chilling mystery. Nam Gyu-ri plays the role of Yeon-soo, who experiences bizarre events, promising an unprecedented level of immersion.

Nam Gyu-ri has steadily built her career as an actress. She made her acting debut in the 2008 film 'Death Bell' and has since appeared in dramas such as 'Life is Beautiful,' 'Children of Nobody,' 'Different Dreams,' 'Kairos,' and 'You Are My Spring,' as well as films like 'Zombie School,' 'Deja Vu,' and 'The History of Jealousy,' establishing her unique genre.

In addition to her acting career, Nam Gyu-ri released a single album, 'Is It a Confession,' last year, reaffirming her presence as a solo artist. She also recently completed her first play, 'Les Misérables,' marking a welcome return to the stage.

'Dongyo Gwi-dam' by Kotap Media has been selected for the 2024 domestic OTT overseas distribution activation support project, organized by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Communications Agency. With its intriguing subject matter and solid narrative, the series has already garnered attention in international markets and has been officially invited to the non-competitive section of the 2025 Cannes International Series Festival. Nam Gyu-ri is expected to attend the festival in late April, showcasing the essence of K-horror to a global audience.
