'THE ROUNDUP: PUNISHMENT' is invited to the Shanghai Film Festival
'THE ROUNDUP: PUNISHMENT' continues its box office success beyond Korea and globally. Following the official invitation to the Berlin International Film Festival last February, it was officially invited to the Midnight Fantasy section of the 26th Shanghai International Film Festival, which will be held for ten days from June 14th to 23rd. Although it was difficult for Korean films to be introduced to China after the Korean War, 'Crime City 4' was unusually invited to the Shanghai International Film Festival, allowing Chinese audiences to see 'THE ROUNDUP: PUNISHMENT' in theaters.
The Midnight Fantasy section, where 'THE ROUNDUP: PUNISHMENT' was invited, is a section that introduces genre films from around the world and is one of the most popular programs at the Shanghai International Film Festival. Previous Korean films such as 'THE WAILING' (2016) and 'GONJIAM: Haunted Asylum' (2018) have been officially invited and screened in the Midnight Fantasy section. 'Crime City 4' is scheduled to be screened five times during the Shanghai International Film Festival.
'THE ROUNDUP: PUNISHMENT' follows monster detective Ma Seok-do (Don Lee), who returns to face Jang Dong-cheol (Lee Dong-hwi), a genius CEO in the IT industry, and villain Baek Chang-gi (Kim Mu-yeol), a former special forces mercenary who runs a large-scale online illegal gambling organization. ), a movie depicting a crime eradication operation carried out with the Gwangsoo Unit & Cyber Team, is being screened in theaters nationwide.
