Actor Lee Dong-hwi Addresses Recent Controversy Involving WINNER's Song Min-ho
On the 16th, at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Seoul, Lee Dong-hwi, the lead actor of the film 'Method Acting' (directed by Lee Ki-hyuk), shared his thoughts.
The film 'Method Acting' (directed by Lee Ki-hyuk) tells the story of 'funny actor' Lee Dong-hwi, who rose to fame through comedy but wants to be recognized for his sincere acting. The film explores the chaos that ensues as he becomes overly immersed in his role. It is an extended feature project based on a short film of the same name, with director Lee Ki-hyuk and Lee Dong-hwi collaborating once again to create this immersive meta-comedy.
In the film, Lee Dong-hwi plays a character named 'Lee Dong-hwi,' offering a unique twist on reality with a witty narrative that blurs the lines between fiction and reality.
Song Min-ho is currently awaiting trial for alleged violations of the Military Service Act due to accusations of neglecting his duties as a social service agent. This was his first public appearance since the controversy arose, sparking further debate. Given Song Min-ho's well-known friendship with Lee Dong-hwi, there was speculation that his attendance was due to an invitation from Lee Dong-hwi.
Addressing these speculations, Lee Dong-hwi clarified, "I did not personally invite him. I found out about his attendance on the day of the event." He emphasized, "I wasn't aware of his visit until I saw him there. It was an unexpected visit."
The film 'Method Acting' is set to be released on the 18th.
