'Inside Men' Returns: Record-Breaking Film to be Reimagined as a Trilogy
'Inside Men' explores the origins of the powerful cartel formed by media, capital, and power in the late 1980s. As the highest-grossing R-rated film in history, it won numerous awards, including Best Picture, Best Screenplay, and Best Planning at the 53rd Grand Bell Awards, as well as Best Picture at the 37th Blue Dragon Film Awards. Now, 'Inside Men' is being developed into a three-part film series.
The film will be directed by Kim Min-beom, who served as an assistant director on 'Spring of Seoul' and 'Flu', and Kim Jin-seok, known for his work on the Disney+ original series 'Made in Korea', 'Harbin', 'The Man Standing Next', and 'Veteran'. The screenplay is penned by Lee Ki-cheol, known for 'The Thieves', 'Assassination', and 'Harbin', with adaptation by Kim Hyo-seok of 'Opposition', promising a seamless story and fast-paced narrative for an immersive experience.
Having entered pre-production last year, 'Inside Men' is gearing up for simultaneous filming of its first two parts this year, with the third part slated for next year. The film aims to begin shooting in the first half of this year, following the completion of major casting. Initially, Song Kang-ho, Koo Kyo-hwan, and Soo Ae were set to star but have since exited, prompting a casting reshuffle.
'Inside Men' is produced by Hive Media Corp, known for delivering bold and insightful works like 'Spring of Seoul', 'Harbin', 'Deliver Us from Evil', 'The Man Standing Next', and the Disney+ original series 'Made in Korea'.
Additionally, SLL, renowned for producing high-quality content across screens and platforms, including the 'Crime City' series, Netflix's 'All of Us Are Dead', and the drama 'Reborn Rich', will co-produce the film.
Currently in pre-production with major casting underway, 'Inside Men' aims to begin filming in the first half of 2026.
