‘Suzume’s Lockdown’, No. 1 for 12 days, is about to surpass 2 million views

According to the Korean Film Council's integrated computer network on the 20th, 'Suzume's Lockdown' (directed by Makoto Shinkai) maintained first place in the box office by mobilizing 296,305 viewers the previous day. The cumulative number of viewers was 1,951,152. It is predicted that 'Suzume's Door Lockdown' could surpass 2 million today, or tomorrow at the latest.
'Suzume's Lockdown' tells the story of Suzume, a girl who accidentally opens a door that causes disaster, and desperately tries to close it to prevent disasters occurring throughout Japan. The movie takes as its main subject the Great East Japan Earthquake, which had a magnitude of 9.0, the largest ever observed in Japan. ‘Suzume’s Lockdown’ is a movie that attracted 10 million viewers in Japan.
In second place is 'The First Slam Dunk' (directed by Takehiko Inoue), which is a long-term hit, attracting 35,644 viewers and recording a cumulative audience of 4,155,091.
The movie ‘Soul Mate’ (directed by Min Yong-geun) ranked third, attracting 26,471 people. DC movie 'Shazam! ‘Wrath of the Gods’ (directed by David F. Sandberg) mobilized 14,467 people. 5th place was ‘Demon Slayer: Gathering the Sanghyeon, and To the Potter Village’ (directed by Haruo Sotozaki), viewed by 11,705 people.
Currently, the domestic box office is showing strong performance, with Japanese animation films ranked 1st, 2nd, and 5th. On the other hand, Korean movies are in a state of lack of energy.
