Actor Jo Han-chul Leaves a Lasting Impression with 'Big Mother' Performance
The play 'Big Mother', which ended on the 25th, was presented by the Seoul Metropolitan Theatre Company. It tells the story of journalists from the newspaper 'New York Investigation' who are fighting to expose the conspiracy of a powerful entity. Jo Han-chul played the role of Owen Green, the editor of 'New York Investigation', showcasing his unique acting prowess and receiving acclaim from audiences throughout the performance.
Jo Han-chul intricately portrayed the character of Owen Green, navigating the complex narrative involving artificial intelligence (AI), algorithms, and journalism. He compellingly depicted the inner turmoil of Green, who struggles between truth and safety after discovering his daughter is entangled in a conspiracy surrounding a presidential candidate. His ability to control the pace and emotion of the scenes heightened the tension of the play, allowing the audience to deeply engage with its message.
Through his agency, Noon Company, Jo Han-chul expressed his thoughts on completing the play, stating, “I was thrilled to be part of such a timely and intriguing production, and it was an opportunity to deepen my passion for acting through its unique stage composition.” He added, “I am grateful to the Seoul Metropolitan Theatre Company, the staff at Sejong Center, and my fellow actors for their hard work.
