On the morning of the 20th, Netflix held a pre-media briefing for 'BTS Comeback Live: ARIRANG' at Cinecube Gwanghwamun in Jongno-gu, Seoul.
What is the significance of BTS's comeback album 'ARIRANG'?
Kim Hyun-jung VP stated, "During the production process of this album, we had many discussions with the members, Chief Producer Bang Si-hyuk, and the staff. The result is 'ARIRANG,' which is released today. As the name suggests, 'ARIRANG' is an album that starts from BTS's identity and roots. BTS has consistently expressed the stories they want to tell and the emotions they feel at the time through their music."
Why did BTS mix Korean and English in their new song?
Kim Hyun-jung VP added, "We hope people see this album as one that contains the stories BTS members want to tell right now. We used both Korean and English to make it as understandable as possible for many people. We hope it becomes an album that can be enjoyed across generations."
'BTS Comeback Live: ARIRANG' will take place on the 21st at 8 PM around Gwanghwamun Square. This performance is Netflix's first live event and music concert broadcast from Korea to the world. The event is directed by Hamish Hamilton, who has directed prestigious events such as the Emmy Awards, Grammys, Oscars, the 2012 London Olympics opening ceremony, and tours for pop stars like Madonna and Beyoncé.
Meanwhile, BTS will release their 5th full-length album 'ARIRANG' at 1 PM on the 20th, marking their first full group activity in about four years.
