Beomsu Lee finally submits his resignation to Shinhan University

Actor Lee Beom-soo resigned from his position as a professor in the Department of Performing Arts at Shinhan University.

On the 31st, an official from his agency Big Punch Entertainment said, “It is true that Beomsoo Lee recently submitted a letter of resignation to Shinhan University.”

Beomsoo Lee was dismissed from his position as Dean of the Department of Performing Arts on the 19th. The school said that the time in question had nothing to do with the so-called 'controversy over abuse of power' against Beomsoo Lee, and that Beomsoo Lee's status as a professor remained the same.

Suspicions against Professor Lee were raised through an online community in November last year.

It is claimed that Professor Lee did not teach in person for about four months, discriminated against students based on their economic status, and verbally abused them.

In response, Lee Beom-soo's side denied the suspicion, saying it was "unfounded." Regarding the claim that students were discriminated against, he said, "The Department of Performing Arts is mostly a practical subject, so if the number of students exceeds 15, classes are divided into classes for efficient classes." “I do,” he explained.

Also, regarding weekend reinforcement, "We have received a response from the school that weekend classes are possible," he said. "There were cases where classes could not be held on weekdays due to filming schedules for dramas and movies, and due to sudden changes in filming schedules, the schedule was notified to the academic affairs office in advance. "There were cases where we could not do it. We asked for sufficient understanding from the students, and since then, we have continued to teach faithfully through supplementary classes, etc.," he refuted.

As the suspicions spread, Shinhan University President Kang Seong-jong promised faculty, staff and students that he would thoroughly investigate the truth.

Currently, Shinhan University is investigating whether students have been harmed by the school's Human Rights Center and the class is being investigated by the Legal Audit Office.
