Sae-ron Kim sentenced to a fine of 20 million won for 'drunk driving accident'

Actress Kim Sae-ron, who caused a drunk driving accident while intoxicated, was sentenced to a fine of 20 million won in the first trial.

On the morning of the 5th, Seoul Central District Court Criminal Division 4 Judge Lee Hwan-ki held a sentencing hearing for Kim Sae-ron, who was indicted on charges including violation of the Road Traffic Act (drinking driving), and sentenced her to a fine of 20 million won.

In the ruling, the court explained the reason for sentencing, saying, "The defendant's blood alcohol level at the time was high and the driving distance was not short, so he needs to be severely punished," but "He admitted his mistake, most of the damage was recovered, and he was a first-time offender with no criminal history."

Afterwards, Kim Sae-ron, who was leaving the court, said to reporters, "I have nothing to say except that I am sorry."

He added, "I have nothing to say about the fine of 20 million won. Other than that, there have been too many articles about untrue things, so I can't explain it because I'm scared." He did not answer the question of which was true or not.

Kim Sae-ron was caught by the police at 8 a.m. on May 18 after crashing into a transformer while drunk driving on a road in Gangnam, Seoul and running away. Due to Kim Sae-ron's drunk driving accident, nearby stores were unable to do business in the morning.

Kim Sae-ron fled in a broken vehicle and was caught by police who responded after receiving 6 or 7 reports that the vehicle was shaking violently. It is known that there were passengers in the vehicle.

The police confirmed Kim Sae-ron's drinking using a breathalyzer detector at the scene. However, in the process of measuring her blood alcohol content, Kim Sae-ron refused to take a breathalyzer test and requested a blood test at a nearby hospital, and her blood alcohol content was found to be over 0.2%, far exceeding the license revocation standard.

Afterwards, Kim Sae-ron was criticized for trying to create sympathy by saying that she was having a difficult time due to the large amount of compensation, settlement money, and advertising penalty. Recently, he was filmed playing a game at Holder Pub and was criticized for being inauthentic.
