EXID's Hani in Spotlight Again Amid Investigation into Fiancé's Hospital

On the 19th, the Gyeonggi Nambu Provincial Police Agency's Criminal Investigation Unit announced the indictment of four individuals, including nurse A, for violating medical laws at the Bucheon-based hospital operated by Yang Jae-woong.
Previously, on May 27 of last year, a tragic incident occurred at Yang's psychiatric hospital, where a woman in her 30s, identified as A, passed away. She was reportedly admitted for treatment of addiction to diet pills containing narcotics.
CCTV footage released by the bereaved family showed A in a seclusion room, clutching her stomach and pleading to be let out. Nurses and caregivers entered, administered a sedative, and restrained her hands, feet, and chest to the bed. Approximately two hours later, A's abdomen was swollen, and she was bleeding from the nose and gasping for air. The medical staff released the restraints but left the room without further action. A subsequently passed away.
The four additional hospital staff members are accused of providing medication to patients without a doctor's prescription, constituting unlicensed medical practice. This brings the total number of individuals indicted in this case from seven to eleven.
The police plan to summon Yang Jae-woong as a suspect this week to investigate charges of violating medical laws, professional negligence resulting in death, and abandonment resulting in death. The other suspects have reportedly been questioned at least once.
Meanwhile, Hani was set to marry Yang Jae-woong last September. However, the announcement coincided with the time of A's death, leading to a postponement of their wedding. Hani's social media was flooded with criticism, and she withdrew from scheduled programs.
Last month, on the 7th and 14th, Hani appeared on MBN's variety show 'Oh Eun-young's Stay' as a guest with the keyword 'sensitivity.' She shared, "I've realized that life doesn't always go as planned after going through various events recently. I've felt a lot of depression for the first time and heard comments like, 'Why choose a thorny path?'"
