Legendary South Korean singer Yoon Bok-hee, 80, has revealed that she underwent four abortions during her career.
On the October 2nd episode of MBN's variety show 'Kim Joo-ha's Day & Night,' Yoon Bok-hee appeared as a guest, sharing insights into her life and career.
Yoon, who divorced Yoo Joo-yong in 1975 after a decade of marriage and remarried singer Nam Jin in 1976, only to separate three years later, spoke candidly about her past relationships. She described her first husband, Yoo Joo-yong, as her ideal man, stating, "Even after our divorce, we stayed in touch and still do. We never fought."
Addressing the absence of children from her marriages, Yoon clarified, "It wasn't that I couldn't have children; I did." She explained that during her international career, she signed contracts that prohibited her from having children. "I couldn't have kids even if I got married because I wasn't allowed to change," she said.
Due to these contracts, Yoon underwent abortions. "Such contracts were common abroad. I had to terminate pregnancies because neither my husband nor I knew about contraception. I had about four surgeries," she confessed.
Reflecting on her past, Yoon expressed remorse, saying, "After embracing religion, I deeply repented for that. It's akin to murder," she said, bowing her head.
