SBS Drama 'Shin-Irang Law Office' Finale: Yoo Yeon-seok Clears Father's Name and Finds Love

In the final episode of SBS's weekend drama 'Shin-Irang Law Office,' aired on the 2nd, Yoo Yeon-seok's character successfully clears his father Choi Won-young's name and finds romance with Lee Som's character, achieving both career and love.

The episode revealed the truth behind Yang Byung-il's (Choi Kwang-il) misguided ambitions from 22 years ago, bringing closure to the storyline. The ratings reached 7.6% nationwide and in the metropolitan area, peaking at 9.7%. This marks an increase from episode 14's 6.0% and episode 15's 7.3%.

Last night, Shin-Irang lost the recorder containing the truth during an attack by Sa-ryong-hoe members, including Lee Tae-gun (Ryu Seong-hyun). However, the 'Shin-Irang Family' managed to retrieve it through teamwork. Shin-Irang manipulated Yang Do-gyeong (Kim Kyung-nam) into revealing the safe where the recorder was hidden, while the deceased Shin Ki-jung (Choi Won-young) watched over the password. Meanwhile, Yoon Bong-soo (Jeon Seok-ho) infiltrated Taebaek disguised as an electrician to cut the power, creating chaos and allowing them to secure the recorder. Han Na-hyun (Lee Som) gathered reporters for a press conference. It was a thrilling reversal using the distrust between Yang Byung-il and his son Yang Do-gyeong.

At the press conference, Shin-Irang exposed the manipulated truth by playing the recorded conversation between Yang Byung-il and the current Chief Justice Choi Chang-soo (Jung Jae-sung). Yang Byung-il, who had mocked that "the dead cannot speak," was arrested on the spot, meeting a miserable end without any remorse or regret, only a bitter smile at his failure due to a ghost.

With his name cleared, Shin Ki-jung reunited with his family, including his wife Park Kyung-hwa (Kim Mi-kyung), through Shin-Irang. His sister Shin Sa-rang (Son Yeo-eun), unaware of Shin-Irang's secret, sensed her father's presence but said nothing, understanding the deep bond without words. The family, now united in spirit, thanked Shin Ki-jung for "coming back" and bid farewell by burning his talisman on the rooftop of Okcheon Building. Shin Ki-jung left with a peaceful smile, expressing his love.

Proud of his father, Shin-Irang continued to listen to the stories of the deceased as a ghost-specialized lawyer. This time, he fulfilled his promise to Han Na-hyun first. Shin-Irang thanked her for "believing in me even when you couldn't see me, and staying by my side even when you couldn't understand." Han Na-hyun expressed how meeting Shin-Irang warmed her once cold world. They shared a romantic kiss under the Christmas snow. Yoo Yeon-seok's epilogue, having mastered 'dog acting' by channeling a 'dog ghost,' hinted at a new beginning.

'Shin-Irang Law Office' conveyed the life message that "even if the whole world doesn't believe in you, having just one person who does can help you endure any hardship." For young Shin-Irang, his father was always that one person, and within his family's unconditional trust, he naturally grew into a compassionate son who empathized with others' pain. His awakening as a 'ghost-specialized lawyer' and his willingness to listen to the grievances of the deceased were manifestations of this love.

This message reached its conclusion with the reunion of Shin-Irang and his father Shin Ki-jung, who returned as a ghost. Just as his father had been for him in his childhood, Shin-Irang became the one person who believed in his father, whom everyone else labeled a corrupt prosecutor. The father-son story, spanning 22 years, where the seed of faith planted by the father restored his honor through his son, delivered a profound resonance.
